Legacy is the Blue Mountains studio of Kirby Sharrock — restoring heritage leadlight that others turn away, and designing new windows around your home's colour, its architecture, and the way the sun moves through it.
The studio
Kirby Sharrock studied painting at Sydney College of the Arts before turning to glass — a painter's eye working within a fixed medium of lead and light.
From a workshop in the Blue Mountains, the studio restores heritage leadlight — replacing oxidised and fatigued lead, matching the original design and glass — and designs new windows for period and contemporary homes across the Mountains and greater Sydney. Every job begins with your rooms: their colours, their architecture, the light you already live with.
What the studio does
Most of the work coming through the studio right now is repair and restoration — bringing tired and broken leadlight back to life.
Cracked quarries, failed and oxidised lead, bowed panels, storm damage — including severely broken heritage pieces others won't take on. We replace the lead and match the pre-existing design and glass. Send a photo and we'll tell you what's possible.
New leadlight for doors, windows, fanlights and screens — designed from your colours, ideas and interior architecture, tailored to your home or business, and installed by us.
Experienced glaziers for install and removal, used to working to drawings and alongside interior designers on new and restored openings.

How a commission runs
We visit or talk through the space — its light, its period, what you want it to feel like.
Scaled drawings and glass samples, worked until the composition and colour are right.
Cut, leaded, soldered and cemented by hand in the Blue Mountains workshop.
Fitted properly into the opening, with the old sash or frame restored where it matters.
